After "Sheltered Valley", I decided to do another barn. This is a forgotten barn near Auburn, California, but it gives the impression that it is only recently forgotten. It still has most of it's paint and the vines are just beginning to take over. "Sheltered Valley" draws the viewer deep in to the painting, but in this one the primary focus will be at the front of the viewing plane.
I'm going back and forth between developing the vine and the barn. The rusted old tractor was very fun to paint.

After completing the background I'm moving on to the vine. I have masked out the main vine branches and am slowly painting around the smaller branches. It's tedious, but the results are worth the effort.
